The foosball league operates on two-week seasons. Every two weeks, a new season begins and the champion of that season is determined by the final standings.
Minimum Matches: Players must have played at least 3 matches to appear on the leaderboard. This ensures a minimum level of participation.
Draws: Matches can end in a draw if both players score the same number of goals. In a draw, both players receive equal credit—neither gets the win, but both improve their records.
When two or more players have the same number of wins, a series of tie-breakers determines who ranks higher. The tie-breakers are applied in order until a winner is determined.
Suppose two players both have 5 wins:
Result: Player A ranks higher because they have a better win percentage (83.3% vs 71.4%), even though Player B has a higher ELO.
Your ELO rating is a measure of your skill level. It changes after every match based on:
Winning vs. higher-rated opponents gives you more rating points. Losing vs. lower-rated opponents costs you more points. Draws split the difference between a win and a loss.
Starting Rating: All new players start at an ELO of 1000.
When you're a new player or haven't played many matches, your rating is considered provisional until you've completed 5 matches.
Once you've played 5 or more matches, you're no longer provisional and rating changes return to normal for all players.
Both players have 4 wins:
→ Player A ranks higher due to superior win percentage
Both players have 5 wins and 80% win rate:
→ Player C ranks higher due to superior goal differential
Both players have identical wins, percentage, and goal differential:
→ Player E ranks higher as the final tie-breaker (higher ELO)
